FIFA World Cup 26™ Watch Party Playbook

Announcement

The Watch Party Playbook is here!

The 2026 Watch Party Playbook published by the Seattle Sports Commission and Seattle FIFA World Cup 26™ Local Organizing Committee, provides guidance for hosting public viewing parties for the FIFA World Cup 26™. The tournament, which is the world's largest spectator event, will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with matches held in 16 host cities, including Seattle.

The Playbook outlines the different types of public viewing events—commercial, non-commercial, and special non-commercial—and explains the licensing requirements, including the need for a TV license from FIFA for public events and compliance with specific regulations. It also provides information on the official Seattle Fan Celebration at Seattle Center and official fan zones in nine other Washington cities. The playbook specifies strict rules on the use of FIFA trademarks, logos, and terms, while offering tips for event planning and promotion. Funding for watch parties is not available from FIFA, the Seattle Sports Commission, or SeattleFWC26, but the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce may have grant funding available.
