Jordyn Bugg
A breakout star in her first full professional season, Bugg played lockdown defense and showed a knack for scoring pivotal goals.
- Finalist for NWSL Defender of the Year
- Named to NWSL Best XI second team
- Nominated for best goal around the world (FIFA Marta Award)
- Nominated for U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year
Her achievements are impressive enough, but they are extraordinary considering Bugg is only 19. She was the league’s youngest-ever Defender of the Year finalist and Best XI honoree. Her stunning long-distance strike against the North Carolina Courage was one of her three game-deciding goals, which was shortlisted for FIFA’s award for best goal in the world. Bugg also made her USWNT debut (as a teenager), with five caps and a repeat nomination for U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year.
