Humpy

Humpy is a member of the Mariners school of fish that participates in the Salmon Run each game. After two full regular seasons and 3 postseason games, Humpy was 0-165 for his career... that is until the 15th inning of the historic ALDS Game 5 at T-Mobile Park in 2025. During that inning break, Humpy historically won his first race, immediately leading to a walk-off base hit in the bottom of the 15th, propelling the Mariners to their first ALCS in two and a half decades. Many fans attribute the Mariners' dramatic win to Humpy's first career victory.

Following the win, Humpy has gone on a Media World Tour! Humpy’s been featured in stories in the Seattle Times, The Athletic, Yahoo! Sports, Sports Illustrated and more. He was invited to attend UW games, Kraken games, the Seattle Tree lighting ceremony, and many community events. October 16, 2025 was declared "Humpy Day" in Seattle by Mayor Bruce Harrell. How many mascots can say they have their own day?! Humpy is currently in talks to receive an endorsement deal from a sportswear company.

Humpy is a unique candidate for Mascot of the Year, not for the well-rounded program that he's built over many years, but instead for the incredible virality of a single moment that brought hope to an entire city. Humpy made Seattle believe in miracles, that underdogs could succeed in the biggest moments, and anybody can make a difference in baseball.
