Dubs

Dubs is widely considered one of the most recognizable live mascots in all of college sports. His friendly, approachable demeanor, playful "woo" bark, and fluffy coat make him the perfect ambassador for the University of Washington on campus, in the community, and across the country. In total, Dubs II completed 151 appearances in 2025 - more than 3x the average yearly appearance figure of his predecessor. Every appearance created a dynamic and welcoming presence. Favorite moments included “woo/boo” crowd prompts, "First Pitch” and “Bark at the Park” events, and high-energy hype segments barking into the microphone! Any glimpse of Dubs on the videoboards at any event frequently brings one of the loudest reactions from fans.

Dubs 74 non-athletics appearances reinforced his role as a true university ambassador. He helped make memories at the Office of the President’s annual holiday celebration and Admitted Student Preview Days, often marking a student’s very first official moment as members of the UW community. Dubs hosted “Race Dubs” at “Dawgs Under the Stars" outdoor movie night, with participation so high in 2025 that the kids’ race had to be expanded into three separate heats to accommodate the number of participants. Dubs also created deeply personal fan experiences through the “Dubs at Your Doorstep” - one couple, who were not alumni and had recently moved from the East Coast, were captivated by Dubs and became devoted fans. Another visit was with a couple celebrating over 50 years together after meeting at UW. These highly personal engagements exhibit the depth of loyalty and emotional attachment Dubs inspires.

Dubs also has his own line of apparel, where a percentage of royalties return directly to support the costs of operating the Dubs program, allowing for further reach and engagement with our furry friend on campus and in the community!
