Doppler
During the 2025 season, Doppler played a central role in driving in-arena fan engagement through original and culturally relevant entertainment that resonated far beyond Climate Pledge Arena. A play on the viral Coldplay concert meme featured Doppler alongside Seattle sports icons Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe. The in-arena sketch was picked up by multiple media outlets including People Magazine and was later recognized by Marketing Brew as one of the most popular sports related social posts of 2025.
Doppler engaged fans well beyond game day through more than 50 public community appearances. Much time was spent at Seattle Children’s Hospital, encouraging vaccinations, delivering toys from the annual Storm Toy Drive and supporting Giving Tuesday efforts. Doppler also made memorable appearances throughout the Symetra LET'S PLAY series, teaming up with fellow Seattle Kraken mascot, Buoy. These joint activations emphasized collaboration, joy and collective impact, demonstrating how teams can work together to amplify positive community outcomes. Doppler regularly engaged with participants at the Jr. Storm Academy for K-8th graders, and, as a non-binary mascot who uses they/them pronouns, Doppler’s “Protect Trans Youth” t-shirt campaign raised awareness and funds that were donated to organizations supporting gender affirming care in the Seattle area. The campaign received significant visibility when Storm guard Erica Wheeler wore the shirt as her walk-in fit at our Home Pride Game, amplifying the message and reinforcing Doppler’s role as a symbol of inclusion, allyship and support beyond the basketball court.
