Sports Star of the Year Beneficiaries

The 75th Annual Sports Star of the Year, presented by MTR Western benefits two non-profit organizations that are an intergral part of the northwest community.

Consistently ranked as one of the best children’s hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report, Children’s serves as the pediatric and adolescent academic medical referral center for the largest landmass of any children’s hospital in the country (Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho). For more than 100 years, Children’s has been delivering superior patient care and advancing new treatments through pediatric research. Children’s serves as the primary teaching, clinical and research site for the Department of Pediatrics at the University Of Washington School Of Medicine. It is through the generosity of a caring community and events like the Sports Star of the Year Awards that the hsopital is able to continue to provide world-class care to Pacific Northwest patients. This year, the hospital is expected to provide $100 million in uncompensated care to those in need.  Your support is  greatly appreciated.

Seattle is known as one of the most physically active cities in America.  The SSC supports the Powered By You fitness movement and the SUBWAY® Washington Games in an effort to curb the rising incidence of youth obesity in our state.
