Seattle is a sports fan's paradise with four major professional teams playing in stadiums and arenas in the core of the city's downtown.
Summer is the season for America's national pastime, and few baseball parks are a more popular destination than Safeco Field. Over the years, the Mariners have captured the hearts of Washington residents, creating a growing base of loyal fans. Thanks to Safeco Field's state-of-the-art retractable roof fans have been able to enjoy outdoor baseball without the fear of rainouts. Serving as a Class A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, the Everett Aquasox organization is geared towards creating a fun family environment that will delight fans of all ages.
The Seattle Seahawks have also garnered themselves a loud and loyal fan base. Fans come out in record numbers to see the Hawks each fall. The Seahawks play at the cutting-edge CenturyLink Field, which is across the street from Safeco Field.
Playing on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field are the Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders are one of the newest Major League Soccer franchises and surprising success. Seattle has embraced the world's game with enthusiasm, breaking MLS attendance records and repeatedly selling out stadium.
A team that has already proven themselves are the Seattle Storm. In their 12 seasons, the Storm has brought home the WNBA championship twice, in 2004 and again in 2010. Seattle's WNBA team joined the league in the summer of 2000, allowing basketball fans in Seattle the chance to see women's hoops at the pro level. One of the newest additions to the Seattle sports scene, the Washington Stealth, brings all the fun and action of indoor lacrosse to the Comcast Arena at Everett. The team captured its first National Lacrosse League Championship in franchise history in 2010.
